Smolt in-house functions are all about making it easy; for you as the organiser and for the guests on the day. Here at Smolt we continue to pride ourselves in offering the best of the best for anyone wanting a top-notch ‘heart of Hobart’ function in the atrium adjacent to the restaurant.
We can arrange for a cosy dinner for 14 or expand the space to accommodate a maximum of 50 seated guests. For a less formal reception-style gathering, a cocktail party, a corporate presentation, team-building session or an information evening accompanied by canapés and drinks, we happily cater for up to 100.
Pre-selection of dishes allows your event to run smoothly from start to finish, uninhibited by decisions about food and wine. Many customers at the restaurant enjoy the Continental-influenced informal style of shared table progressive dining. This works perfectly at a sit-down function. The flexibility afforded by this communal ethos allows us to meet the needs of your whole party – no matter how diverse your food preferences are. We can include dishes that cover any guest’s dietary requirements in each course, whilst also offering interesting delicacies for the rest of the party.
The Smolt team regularly caters for events as diverse as private dinners for small groups through to corporate functions for up to 1,000. We have a team of people who will welcome your enquiry and find excitement in the challenges of new and interesting event concepts.

If a wedding is on the cards, the chefs based at Smolt will ensure that your celebration is complemented by sumptuous food served with cheerfulness and efficiency. All of the arrangements for wedding catering are made under the overall guidance and management of a specialist who is familiar with all three restaurants: Smolt, Frank and Smolt Kitchen.
The best place to start is as soon as possible with an email to our wedding coordinator who will use her compassion, skills and knowledge to support you in creating a beautiful and authentic experience. Again, through our expanded capacity made possible through Smolt Kitchen, we are both willing and able to cater for large or small events, in a private home or at a more public venue.
